After a pothole was reported that damaged vehicles, TxDOT is now making repairs that will last until further notice.Crews have wrapped up pavement repairs on the I-45 North northbound connector ramp just past the 610 North Loop, the Texas Department of Transportation told ABC13's Elissa Rivas on Tuesday.
Crews began emergency repairs to the area at about 2 a.m. earlier in the day, and initially said they would continue until further notice.Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Houston TranStar cameras showed heavy delays northbound as traffic was squeezed down to one lane at the North Loop.On Monday, ABC13 reported a large pothole in the area that caused flat tires and broken rims.

TxDOT launches 'Click It or Ticket' campaign - KRLD NewsSeat belts save lives. Wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of dying in a vehicle crash by up to 45%. In spite of this, many Texas drivers and passengers still choose not to use their seat belt. In fact, 1,258 unbuckled drivers and passengers died in 2022, up 2.5% from the year before. Many of these deaths were entirely preventable. With all of this in mind, TxDOT is launching its statewide “Click It or Ticket” campaign. From May 22 through June 4, including Memorial Day Weekend, law enforcement from around the state will be working overtime ticketing motorists who are not buckled up. State law requires that every person in a vehicle be secured by a seat belt whether riding in the front or back seat. Fines and court costs for failing to fasten seat belts can add up to $250 or more. TxDOT’s Kendall Sloan talked with KRLD's John Liddle about the initiative.
