Two people found dead after police were called to a stabbing on Anoka Street in Ottawa\u0027s south end Monday night. A third died after a police interaction.
The perpetrator, whose identity has not been released, attacked the victims just outside of a house in the 1200 block of Anoka Street, which is off Bank Street south of Heron Road.
When the first officers arrived, the bodies of two women lay close to the house and the alleged perpetrator was standing on the street out front stabbing another woman, according to preliminary information provided by the SIU and the Ottawa Police Service.Police fired and at least six shots rang out, multiple neighbours said, and the perpetrator fell to the ground, although he seemed to maintain a grip on his knife and was speaking to the police.
“He was quiet shortly after and then there was a guy doing chest compressions for a long time on him.” Crime scene tape protected the area where the stabbings occurred on Tuesday morning and forensic technicians placed evidence markers on the street, marking discharged bullet casings and blood stains.
The girls were known in the area to walk their dog, a small white terrier. They were outside with the dog when the stabbing occurred, said the neighbour, who recalled seeing the animal sprint away amid the screams and the gunshots.Article content
