THUNDER BAY — Two teens from Toronto have been arrested after allegedly taking over a local apartment for drug trafficking.

Thunder Bay police said officers were sent to a residential address on the 200 block of Pearl Street Wednesday afternoon to conduct a wellness check due to evidence of a home takeover situation. Responding officers found two male suspects inside the home, with one attempting to hide from police while the other tried to barricade himself in a room.Officers seized quantities of Oxycodone pills, crack cocaine, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

An 18-year-old and 17-year-old, both from Toronto, face two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer, and unlawfully being in a dwelling.
