Two suspects were arrested after breaking into a home using a stolen garage door remote. One suspect was apprehended at the scene while the other fled in a vehicle but was later apprehended by police.
Officers responded to a residence in the area of Princess Street and Cassels Road East at around 5:55 a.m. on December 24. According to police, two suspects used a stolen garage door remote to gain access to the home. Officers arrived at the scene and were able to take one suspect into custody without incident. The other fled in a gray SUV. Police said they later stopped the vehicle after searching the area and the second suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Police said Monday that 33-year-old Zachary Lintner of Courtice has been charged with breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to comply with a release order, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. They said that 55-year-old Joseph Davrieux of Clarington Has been charged with breaking and entering, dangerous operation, flight from police, operating a conveyance while prohibited, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order
