One man stabbed another at a residence in Campbell River.
Two police officers were hurt while arresting an attempted murder suspect in Campbell River on Friday.
A 22-year-old man stabbed a 21-year-old man multiple times in a 900-block Cedar Street residence at around 7 p.m. on Friday, police said in a statement.The victim was transported to Campbell River Hospital and is expected to survive. Police attempting to take the suspect into custody were injured with varying levels of non-life-threatening injuries when the suspect resisted arrest, police said.
The suspect was also taken to hospital for treatment, though police did not specify the extent of the man’s injuries.Drugs are believed to have played a factor in the stabbing, though the police statement did not elaborate on how. Anyone with information regarding criminal activity in the community is encouraged to call the RCMP detachment at 250-286-6221.
