Mark your calendars! Two of NYC’s biggest vintage icons are teaming up for a weekend sale
, and Vivienne Westwood . Now, the duo has teamed up with one of the most iconic collectors in New York City, Gabriel Held. When doors open at 12p.m. on Saturday, Held will sell 185 pieces from his archive in the heart-shaped section of James Veloria’s revamped store, right before Valentine’s Day.Held is offering up a cornucopia of fashion history. “Think flashy, sometimes trashy, and always fabulous European designer pieces from the ’90s and ’00s,” says Held.
Fast forward, and pieces from Held’s archive have appeared on Rosalía, Kim Kardashian, Olivia Rodrigo, Bella Hadid, and Nicki Minaj. He’s also styled Hadid, Lil’ Kim, Paris Hilton, Kehlani, Rico Nasty, Lourdes Leon, and Keke Palmer, and the campaign for the Baby Phat relaunch. For Rihanna’s “Wild Thoughts” video, Held himself reworked a billowy empire waist Betsey Johnson top into a crop for the singer.
in which he spotlights the impactful but less well-known ladies of fashion, including Natalie Cole, Carol Channing, Tatum O’Neal, and Nivea.James Veloria and Held’s collaboration is a true delight—for them as much as the shoppers. “I see the overlaps in our obsessions with the same designers, but we tend towards different styles, and I love to see the way they have curated from my collection,” says Held.
