The fire hazard continues to be extreme in an area near Thessalon
Aviation Forest Fire and Emergency Services said there are currently 49 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of those, seven are not under control, four are being held, 11 are under control and 27 fires are being observed.Below is the full Monday news release from the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.There are currently 49 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region.
For individuals interested in observing smoke forecasts, visit FireSmoke.ca to access current and forecast conditions. To report a wildland fire located north of the French and Mattawa rivers, please dial 310-FIRE. To report a forest fire located south of the French or Mattawa rivers, please dial 911.
