Quebec police are investigating two separate fatal car accidents that occurred on Friday night, both involving alleged impaired drivers. One accident resulted in the death of the male driver and injuries to a passenger while the other claimed the life of a woman in her twenties.

Quebec authorities are investigating two separate fatal car accidents on Friday night, both allegedly involving impaired drivers. The first incident occurred in the Regional Municipality of St. Cliche, in the Beauce region, where a car veered off the roadway, flipped, and crashed into nearby woods. The male driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. A passenger was rescued and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a second incident, a truck and a car collided head-on on Highway 132 near the town of L’Ile Verte in the Lower St. Lawrence region. Police allege the truck driver crossed the lane, causing the collision. The woman driving the car, in her twenties, was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The truck driver sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested for impaired driving. His female passenger sustained minor injuries. Traffic on Route 132 was halted for several hours following the second accident. The Sureté du Quebec's investigation into the impaired driving causing death incident is ongoing
