Two people are dead and one is seriously injured after a two\u002Dvehicle collision on the Trans\u002DCanada Highway near Balgonie Monday night.
The driver of a car, an 18-year-old man from White City, and his passenger, a 64-year-old woman from Nanaimo, B.C. were pronounced dead at the scene after their car and a van collided in the eastbound lanes, RCMP said in a news release issued Tuesday.
The driver of the van was taken to hospital with serious injuries, the release said, and White Butte RCMP continue to investigation with the help of a collision reconstructionist. RCMP responded at approximately 11:10 p.m. Monday for reports of collision involving three vehicles on the Trans-Canada about three kilometres east of Balgonie, towards St. Joseph’s. However, RCMP confirmed Tuesday just two vehicles were involved.
The highway was blocked for investigation but has since been reopened and the families of the deceased have been notified, the release said.Share this article in your social network
