May 22—Two people were killed in a crash on East Briggsmore Avenue east of Oakdale Road early Sunday, according to the Modesto Fire Department.

Crews responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover with people possibly trapped, according to a battalion chief’s incident summary. The crash was reported about 1:17 a.m., Modesto police Lt. Mike Hammond said. At the scene, responders found the vehicle on its roof. From a photo released by the Fire Department, it appears to be a dark-colored SUV.
Nearby were two adult males who’d been ejected as the vehicle overturned several times, Hammond said. Both men were declared dead at the scene.
