Crews with the Madison Township Fire Department responded shortly before 8 a.m. to the 5000 block of Fullerton Drive.
A man and a woman both died Saturday morning after firefighters in Madison Township pulled them from a burning home in a residential area east of Noe Bixby Road.
First-responders who entered the house first found and rescued a male from inside before returning to find the woman, Robinson said. Both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.The fire was discovered in a basement, but Robinson said the cause and exact origin of the fire remains under investigation. Robinson said the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
The Franklin County Coroner responded to the scene, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the man and woman's causes of death. Officials have not released their names pending the notification of their next of kin.
