Collision with pick-up truck occurred on July 31 near Hillsport

The collision involving an ATV and pick-up truck happened on July 31 around 3 p.m. on Phillips Creek Road near Hillsport, which is south of Highway 11 between Hearst and Longlac.

The driver and passenger of the ATV were pronounced dead at the scene, said OPP. The driver of the truck received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.The response included Marathon OPP, Greenstone OPP, Kapuskasing OPP detachments, Superior North EMS, and the Greenstone and Manitouwadge Fire Departments.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and includes the OPP North West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement and OPP Technical Collision Re-Constructionists.
