A RIDE check in Espanola resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected cocaine and psilocybin.
Two individuals are facing multiple charges following a RIDE spot-check conducted in Espanola last week. In a news release issued today, Manitoulin OPP stated that around 4 a.m. on February 25th, officers were conducting a RIDE check on Highway 6 when they discovered that the driver of a vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Police apprehended the driver, and during a subsequent investigation, the passenger was also arrested.
Furthermore, police seized quantities of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $12,000 and a quantity of suspected psilocybin. The driver, identified as Jonathon McComber, 42, from Little Current, faces charges including driving while prohibited, operating a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of psilocybin. The passenger, Dorothy Vallillee, 41, from Sudbury, is facing charges such as possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of psilocybin. McComber appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sudbury on February 25th, while Vallillee is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on April 7th. It's important to note that the allegations against both individuals have not been proven in court, and they are considered innocent until proven guilty
