A man and woman were arrested for civil contempt of court and are expected in court on July 19

Kaslo RCMP say the arrests at the Salisbury Forest Service Road on June 1 bring the total of people charged for trying to disrupt logging in the area to 19 since police began enforcing the injunction on May 17.

The injunction was granted to Cooper Creek Cedar Ltd. for its logging operations near Argenta, about 40 kilometres north of Kaslo, in August 2019. Police were called to the area on June 1 after a group allegedly blocked the company’s employees from entering the area. “Most individuals moved off to the side of the road when asked; however, two refused,” said B.C. RCMP in a statement on Wednesday.

A man and woman were arrested for civil contempt of court. Both were released at the scene with conditions and are expected in court on July 19.
