HALIFAX, N.S. — A 24-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman are facing a slew of firearms and drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Halifax last Friday.Metro police said the driver provided officers with a false name, leading to their arrest and the discovery and seizure of crack cocaine and a loaded firearm.

Sheldon Michael Bennett and Brianna Lee Weir were scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Tuesday on 11 firearm-related offences as well as possession for the purpose of trafficking.Possession of a firearm in a vehicle.Possession of a firearm without a license.Carrying a concealed weapon.Storing a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations.
