Twitter vs Elon Musk trial is still on?
This after Musk said he would indeed purchase the social media platform earlier this week.
Now it looks like the trial will continue as planned, with the judge in the case, Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick, noting that she has not received any filings from lawyers for a stay.“The parties have not filed a stipulation to stay this action, nor has any party moved for a stay. I, therefore, continue to press on toward our trial set to begin on October 17, 2022,” Chancellor McCormick explained in her own filing.
The text messages in question here are from Signal, as McCormick agrees with Twitter’s lawyers that Musk likely used the messaging platform to discuss matters pertinent to the deal to purchase, and therefore they should have been turned over.
