Defense is BACK!
At long last, the day has finally arrived! The Denver Broncos came to town to take on our Seattle Seahawks in the highly anticipated debut of new head coach Mike Macdonald. The Broncos won the coin toss and elected to defer, meaning we’d see offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb’s offense led by Geno Smith take first. Things... didn’t go according to plan. Geno was sacked on the first play, and would get hit from behind as he threw on the following play, resulting in an ugly interception.
Set up by yet another stingy defensive series, Geno Smith and the offense got rolling again, closing the 3rd quarter in Bronco territory. On the first play of the 4th quarter, Geno found a wide open Zach Charbonnet up the sideline for another Seahawks touchdown. A lot more Seahawks defense was put on display for the rest of the game, including a Riq Woolen interception.
