Trump was too busy to golf in his club’s championship this year ... but he still won it?

The presidency comes with lots of nice perks. A big house, a private plane, chopper rides, an executive chef and — if you’re Donald Trump, at least — bragging rights to your club championship. As you can see from this Golf.com photo of Trump’s locker at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The actual winner, according to Golf.com, is a man named Ted Virtue, CEO of a New York investment firm MidOcean Partners. Why is Virtue identified as the actual winner? Well, because he actually won. But sources cited in the story claim Trump ran into him at the club and said something like, “The only reason you won is because I couldn’t play,” due to demands of the presidency.

So, they played the match, and Trump, the slightly better golfer in terms of handicap, ultimately emerged the winner.
