President Trump told Chinese President Xi Jinping that he thought Beijing's building of prison camps for minority Uighurs was 'exactly the right thing to do,' John Bolton writes in his new tell-all memoir.
Trump and the White House call him a disgruntled burnout and dismiss the allegations in the book as not credible because of Bolton's break with the president.
Trump, according to Bolton, dismissed Chinese human rights abuses in its western Xinjiang Provice and in Hong Kong. He also dismissed the importance of U.S. obligations to Taiwan, Bolton writes. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said on Wednesday that Bolton's account proves that Democrats had done the right thing by pursuing impeachment.
