President Trump said his administration is considering releasing video footage of the U.S. special operations raid that resulted in the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
regarding the long-planned assault by Army Delta Force commandos also provoked alarm among veterans of previous operations who worried the president’s remarks could imperil future raids and intelligence gathering.
Despite those disclosures, Trump on Monday again defended his decision not to read in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi or other top congressional Democrats on plans for the raid, criticizing House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff and his handling of the ongoing impeachment inquiry. “They were talking about, ‘Why didn't I give the information to Adam Schiff and his committee?’ And the answer is because I think Adam Schiff is the biggest leaker in Washington,” Trump said. “You know that, I know that, we all know that. I've watched Adam Schiff leak. He’s a corrupt politician. He’s a leaker like nobody's ever seen before.”
