Pres. Trump's 'locked and loaded' tweet is just the latest in a long series of threats he has made against Iran—each followed by uncertainty over whether he would follow through with a military response.
Tensions were rising Monday after President Donald Trump issued a thinly-veiled threat against Iran that the United States is “locked and loaded,” reigniting questions about military action after attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure caused oil prices to surge.
It was just the latest in a long series of threats Trump has made against Iran, each followed by uncertainty over whether he would follow through with a military response. But he called off a military strike against Iran at the last-minute, placing the blame on someone"loose and stupid" in Iran -- an individual who had made a"big mistake."
....Iran’s very ignorant and insulting statement, put out today, only shows that they do not understand reality. Any attack by Iran on anything American will be met with great and overwhelming force. In some areas, overwhelming will mean obliteration. No more John Kerry & Obama! To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!
