U.S. National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes: 'President Trump stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas.'
U.S. National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes: “President Trump stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas .”President Donald Trump ’s administration has rejected an Arab proposal to rebuild Gaza. The $53 billion plan, presented by Egypt at the Arab League Summit in Cairo on Tuesday, seeks to counter President Trump’s proposal to rebuild Gaza and resettle its residents in neighboring Arab countries.
The Egyptian plan “does not address the reality that Gaza is currently uninhabitable and residents cannot humanely live in a territory covered in debris and unexploded ordnance,” Hughes pointed out. “President Trump stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas. We look forward to further talks to bring peace and prosperity to the region.”
“Now, with President Trump’s idea, there is an opportunity for the Gazans to have free choice based on their free will. This should be encouraged!” it added.
