Addressing the California GOP's fall summit in Anaheim, former President Donald Trump emphasized that next year's election was the most important in United States history.
"I used to say it about '16 as 'the most important,' and it was," he continued. "But this is more important because we're going to lose our country. Our country has gone to hell. Our country is being destroyed." Trump's speech primarily focused on the importance of the state in the upcoming general election, specifically regarding early voting laws like mail-in and absentee ballots.
Trump currently has a 41-percentage-point lead over his next-highest Republican contender, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to FiveThirtyEight.
