Former President Donald Trump reiterated his controversial comments about the contributions of European NATO members in a
on Truth Social Wednesday morning in which he said the U.S. is “probably” spending $150 billion—an unsubstantiated estimate—more than others to support Ukraine.... Trump posted on his social media platform Wednesday morning saying “could somebody please inform our uninformable President that NATO has to pay their bills,” adding “if we had a real President” the U.S. would not be spending more than other NATO countries.
Trump alleged that European countries are “paying a small fraction of what we are for the Disaster in Ukraine … There is probably a $150 Billion difference.”alleged non-paying NATO nations, saying if NATO members didn’t “pay bills” they would “get no protection” and he would encourage Russia to “do whatever the hell they want.”
