Multiple Trump advisers have reportedly balked at the administration's estimate of 100,000-240,000 deaths due to COVID-19.

Several Trump administration officials reportedly doubt the administration's projections of 100,000 to 240,000 U.S. deaths caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The projected death toll was announced during a Tuesday press briefing, with Trump also laying out plans to extend social distancing guidelines until at least April 30. "This could be a hell of a bad two weeks. This is going to be a very bad two, and maybe three weeks. This is going to be three weeks like we've never seen before," Trump said at the briefing."One hundred thousand is, according to modeling, a very low number. I asked this a while ago, they said, it's unlikely you will be able to attain that."Win McNamee/Getty

Some experts who were consulted by the administration said they were asked to provide numbers in a rushed manner.
