The Trump administration is revoking California’s federal waiver for setting its own tailpipe-emissions rules, President Trump tweeted Wednesday, further escalating a fight that has challenged the auto industry. Mr. Trump tweeted that the move would produce cheaper but safer cars. “Auto makers should seize this opportunity because without this alternative to California, you will be out of business,” he wrote. The president was tweeting while in California for a series of fundraisers in Palo Alto, Beverly Hills and San Diego.
