The prime minister has warned that putting tariffs on Canadian aluminum will hurt the American economy because the U.S. does not produce enough aluminum to fulfill its“we’re also concerned about the health situation and the coronavirus reality that is still hitting all three of our countries.”
The prime minister was also asked at the time if travelling to Washington would mean he would have to self-isolate for two weeks upon return. The government of Canada has put in placethat require travellers returning from Canada quarantine for 14 days, regardless of whether or not they are showing COVID-19 symptoms.
“These are obviously the conversations that we’re having both with the Americans and with public health officials here in Canada but I can assure you that, at all times, we will follow all the rules and all the advice of public health,” he said.
