Truck driver accidentally backs over sleeping woman's legs in grocery store loading area [Breaking]
A truck driver backing into a loading dock of a grocery store late Saturday in Oceanside ran over the legs of a woman who was sleeping there, Oceanside police said.
The woman, who was estimated to be in her late 30s or early 40s, was sleeping in the loading dock near trash and other debris shortly before midnight as the truck driver pulled up to make a delivery on South Oceanside Boulevard near Commerce Street, said Oceanside police Sgt. Tom Wayer. The driver didn’t see the woman but felt a bump when he was backing up his trailer. When he got out to investigate, he heard the woman screaming and found the vehicle had run over the woman’s legs, Wayer said.
She was transported by paramedics to a hospital to be treated. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening. No other information was immediately available.
