It began about 5 p.m. with a report of a break-and-enter in the 2100-block of Granite Street. A suspect turned out to have entered through a back door and taken approximately $8,000 worth of electronic equipment and silverware.

A neighbour described him as five-foot-nine and 25- to 30-years-old with dark shorts and a dark or checkered shirt. He also had a shaved head and a large dark backpack.

About 7:50 p.m., police received a 911 call about a break-and-enter in progress in the 3100-block of Rutland Road. The resident had come home and encountered a man in the foyer.It was discovered that about $700 worth of electronics was stolen from the home.The suspect is described as white and about six feet all, and wearing cargo pants and a grey T-shirt. He had a black medical mask and a black backpack and was riding a mountain bike.

Less than an hour later, police received another break-and-enter report in the 3100-block of Beach Drive. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived. A rear patio door was found to be insecure and surveillance video showed a man with a similar description to the one seen on Rutland.
