Two of three men arrested last month and charged with first-degree murder in the 2022 killing of Barry Albert in Annapolis County have retained legal counsel.Kristopher Michael Buttar, 44, of Dartmouth and Alan Stephen Rankin, 43, of Amherst appeared via video links from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth.
MacLeod advised Rankin to contact the Nova Scotia Legal Aid office in Annapolis Royal for help finding a lawyer. Judge Timothy Landry scheduled the case to return to court July 15, possibly to set dates for a preliminary inquiry. William Jordan Harris Zinck, 26, of Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg County, faces the accessory charge. He’s due back in provincial court Thursday.
