THUNDER BAY – Local artists, crafters and quilters donated their works to Trinity Hall to raise funds for Ukraine through a silent auction and direct sales on Saturday.Carol Forneri, Chairman of the Trinity United Church sale for Ukraine, says that the Trinity Hall community was heart stricken hearing what was happening in Ukraine and had to come together and raise funds for the country.

"I guess because, like a lot of people, we were just appalled at the news that we were hearing, what was happening there,” said Forneri. “And you know it could be us you go to bed one night and its fine and the next day your world is disappeared and so we thought we'd like to help out and better as a group than just one single person and that's why we decided to do the sale."

Funds raised will be used to help purchase medical supplies for medics and first responders as well as supporting efforts to look after children orphaned by the war.
