One of 13 children in a famous Derry sporting family, McGurk was an All-Ireland winner with club and county as part of a glorious era for Derry football in the early 1990s.
He managed Derry hurlers to the Nickey Rackard Cup and Ulster under-21 titles in 2017. He was the current Lavey minor hurling manager.
