The municipal tree bylaw includes fines of up to $50,000 per tree for anyone caught vandalizing or removing trees on city property.One was a decades-old elm on Manhattan Drive. The city said in a statement Friday that the 60-plus-year-old tree was "recently poisoned" and died.Another seven trees were killed in the city's Kuipers Peak neighbourhood.
