Traylor Talk: Basketball background brings insight, inspiration for UTSA football coach

He pulls coaching techniques from some of the greats of the modern era, as well, studying the approaches of the San Antonio Spurs’ Gregg Popovich and Golden State Warriors’ Steve Kerr.Probably Bill Walsh’s book on coaching . Anything John Wooden, I don’t miss anything John Wooden. I've read everything John Wooden literally 100 times. I would say where I line up the most in my beliefs is Wooden. All of this stuff I get, pretty much, I just stole it from Wooden.
Q: I know basketball has always been big for you. How often do you have a chance to still play or watch hoops?In the spring and summer, we try to play once per week as a staff. And any time I can get Spurs tickets, I'm there, if I have a night. I love watching the Spurs. I just love basketball. I don’t know how many Spurs games I've been to already. I would have to guess 20 to 30. I love going to them.
