Transit P.E.I. is adding an extra round trip from Tignish to Summerside and Summerside to Charlottetown to help Prince County residents. FileCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Transit P.E.I. is improving options for Prince County residents by adding an extra round trip per day on rural public transit routes starting on Dec. 29.“We are aligning our schedule and routes based on demand and rider feedback,” said Transportation Minister Cory Deagle.
“We will continue to make changes to our service over time to ensure that using our rural public transit service is easy and convenient for Islanders,” added Deagle. Since launching in October, Transit P.E.I. has provided 57,733 one-way trips and averaged 340 passenger fares per day in November.Seniors and post-secondary student fares are only $10, and transit is free for anyone 18 years old and under.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
