Skybound has revealed the Decepticon team who will kick off danielwarrenart's Transformers 1, coming October 4, as Starscream, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Rumble and Skywarp. The new series is seemingly holding back Megatron for a big entrance.
The Transformers are set to return this October, and in celebration of the upcoming series from writer/artist Daniel Warren Johnson, new publisher Skybound Entertainment has just revealed the five Decepticons who will start the new continuity…
Previously, Skybound unveiled the line-up of Autobots for the new Transformers series, but a hero is only as good as the villains they're squaring off against. To that end, Skybound recently revealed the line-up of Decepticons assembled in the new series via its Instagram account. Starscream, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Rumble and Skywarp will be facing off against Optimus Prime and fellow Autobots Arcee, Wheeljack, Ratchet and Cliffumper in this October’s Transformers #1.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Starscream, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Rumble and Skywarp Revealed It’s a solid line-up of fan-favorites from the G1-era of Transformers, with Starscream and Soundwave as perhaps the most obvious inclusions. It somehow wouldn’t feel right if the Starscream didn’t screech his way into the new continuity, as the Decepticon terror of the skies is a fixture of classic Transformers lore.
The new Transformers series is part of the shared Energon Universe, encompassing the continuities of G.I. Joe and Void Rivals, so there are likely to be many surprises down the line, and some of the more idiosyncratic choices for the Decepticon and Autobot forces are guaranteed to have been made with specific awesome stories in mind.
