HENDERSON, Nev. — You can finally circle your calendars. And you can do it for the next decade or so.
That’s six best-on-best events over a 10-year span. More importantly, it is not necessarily dependent on Russian participation.
“I think I’ve been pretty open with this one,” said McDavid. “I think the NHL, and hockey in general, has missed out on a huge chunk of international play and best-on-best play. That would have been really, really special … You think about the biggest moments in all of hockey — you think of the Summit Series and Henderon’s goal, you think of Sid’s goal in 2010, you think of all these massive moments — that only comes from playing best-on-best hockey on the biggest stage, on the global stage.
“I think it would be amazing to play with Sid and Connor and all the best players in our country,” said MacKinnon, who already knows who he wants as linemates. “I think the line I’d like to be on would be with Sid and .
