Christian Dube, a dementia patient, was found deceased in Langford after wandering from a care home in Saanich. The search lasted for a week, and while there is no foul play suspected, the incident highlights concerns over security at the care facility.

A roughly week-long search for a missing man with advanced dementia who wandered out of a care home in Saanich has ended tragically.

“It looked like he had just sat down, was going through his backpack, had a medical emergency and sat back and passed away,” she told CHEK News on Monday. On Monday, Brittany repeated those concerns, adding that she wishes there was better communication between Saanich Police and the West Shore RCMP as well.“I don’t think it’s any person’s fault, I think it’s the lack of security at Broadmead Lodge – and I’m angry,” she added.
