Cathy Hinton put a motion on the floor to change the wording around affordable housing units in new developments, preferring the term “require” rather than “encourage” or “recommend.
“I don’t believe our municipality, our town, is ready to implement those changes without there being a significant amount of study without consultation, not only with our residents but with our developers and other experts in our community,” said Graham.Coun. Bill Thomas also voiced his concern regarding the motion.
