Toronto celebrated New Year's Eve with fireworks and festivities along the waterfront, while implementing controlled access measures to Union Station to manage crowds.

Toronto hosted a New Year's Eve celebration that included fireworks displays on the waterfront. To ensure the safety and smooth flow of revelers, the city implemented several road closures in the downtown core from 10 p.m. on Tuesday until 1 a.m. on Wednesday. These closures included eastbound Queen's Quay West, Bay Street from Front Street to Queen's Quay West, and York Street from Front Street to Queen's Quay West. Additional closures may be implemented if necessary.

After the midnight fireworks display, access to Union Station was restricted to manage crowds. Public transit users were directed to enter through the Brookfield Place doors on Bay Street, south of Front Street. If overcrowding occurred, they might have to queue outside on Bay Street. These measures were taken in response to last year's New Year's Eve celebrations, where thousands of people attempting to leave through Union Station experienced significant delays due to overcrowding and a fight on a subway train. The city also hosted a celebration along the waterfront featuring fireworks, music, and pop-up performances. The fireworks display was visible from multiple locations, including Sugar Beach Park, Harbour Square Park, Harbourfront Centre, HTO Park, and HTO Park West. Pop-up performances took place at Sherbourne Common and the Toronto Music Garden, which also showcased short films from the National Film Board of Canada
