Toronto moved into the National Lacrosse League East division final with a 15\u002D11 win over the Thunderbirds.
“Obviously when you hear the news that is out, we have a ‘next-man-up’ mentality,” Manns said. “We have a very deep team for this specific reason, when guys go out in the playoffs. And guys came to play tonight.”
“Those guys are the best defence in the league for a reason,” Manns said. “The reason we’re so good are those guys put everything on the line every weekend.”Corey Small also scored three times for the Rock. Stephen Keogh and Dan Craig scored twice each. Dan Dawson, Mitch de Snoo, Greg Downing, Adam Jay and Latrell Harris also scored. Three of the goals were empty-net tallies with Halifax making a last-ditch effort.
Now the Rock will get an opportunity to get over the division final hump that has stopped them the past two playoffs and into the NLL final for the first time since 2015. The team has not won a championship since 2011.
