Toronto police will hold a news conference to provide an update on Project Poppie, the investigation into a shootout in the city's West Queen West neighborhood on November 11th. Eight people have been charged in connection with the incident, which involved a stolen vehicle, an exchange of gunfire between two groups, and numerous bullets fired, narrowly missing officers and damaging surrounding buildings and vehicles.

Toronto police will be providing an update at 10:30 a.m. on Project Poppie , an investigation into a gun battle in the city’s West Queen West neighbourhood.

Eight people have been charged in connection with the incident, which occurred near Queen Street West and Sudbury Street at around 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 11. According to police, three occupants of a stolen vehicle pulled into a grocery store parking lot in the area, exited the vehicle, and began firing at a group who were gathering for a birthday party. The incident escalated to an exchange of gunfire between two groups.

At least 100 shots were fired during the incident, police previously said, but fortunately no injuries were reported.
