A Toronto police officer whose son is charged in the shooting death of an alleged Liberian war criminal during a London home invasion has been charged with breach of trust
Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Gregory’s son, Keiron Gregory, 22, of North York, on a charge of second-degree murder in the June 21 shooting of Bill Horrace, 44, who was gunned down after four men forced their way into an east London home where his wife and two young sons live.
“We have interviewed several more witnesses and more witnesses are coming forward,” Newton said of progress in the case. “So we are gathering more and more valuable . . . witness accounts, intelligence from other police services and physical evidence as each day goes by.” Horrace’s slaying has thrust his alleged involvement in the NPFL into the spotlight and raised questions about how he was allowed to stay in Canada for nearly two decades.
But Horrace claimed he became a chaplain at age 17 for the National Patriotic Reconstruction Assembly Government, a self-declared government in NPFL-held territory, before he fled the country after a fallout with a commander who ordered him to the front lines, according to documents filed for his bid to obtain permanent residency in Canada.
