The man accused of the murders of two Ottawa men appeared in court in Kingston on Thursday afternoon.

Delphin was found shot dead and Soubliere was found critically injured from gunshot wounds on Oct. 16, 2021, in the K&P Trail parking lot off Sydenham Road near Highway 401. While Soubliere was rushed to hospital, he would die there two days later.Article content Kingston Police led the investigation into the murders and traced Delphin and Soubliere’s travels through the Saturday. They found that the pair had arrived in Kingston earlier that day and had attended the Homecoming street parties around Queen’s University.

Police found surveillance photos of the two men at the event as well as walking downtown Kingston with a man they didn’t know. Investigators sent out a photo of the man to the public and soon learned it was Beasley, who they said goes by the street name “Sophia.” A few weeks later, Beasley was arrested in Toronto on Aug. 17 by Kingston Police. During that arrest, Beasley was found with a firearm, say police. Beasley has been in custody ever since.
