The drama follows two older women and pensioners played by Barbara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier, who live across the hall from each other in the same apartment building, but have kept their lesbian romance hidden for decades. Magnolia plans a theatrical release in early 2020. "Filippo Meneghetti has delivered an incredibly beautiful, profound directorial debut and Barbara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier are unforgettable in the lead roles," Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles said in a statement.
The film was written by Meneghetti, Malysone Bovorasmy and Florence Vignon and is a Paprika Films, Tarantula Luxembourg and Artémis Production film. Producer credits are shared by Pierre-Emmanuel Fleurantin and Laurent Baujard. The deal was negotiated by Magnolia executive vp Dori Begley and Magnolia senior vp of acquisitions John Von Thaden, with Daniela Elstner of Doc & Film International negotiating for the filmmaker and producers.
