Breaking: Toronto Hydro says all service restored after massive outage in Midtown, Scarborough
Toronto Hydro says all power has been restored after an extensive power outage was reported in the Midtown Toronto area near Yonge and Eglinton, as well as in Scarborough, on Friday evening.
In an update, the company said a loss of supply from Hydro One, Ontario’s major electricity transmission provider, was behind the outages. Dozens of Torontonians took to Twitter to report sweeping electricity outages near their locations across the northern and easters parts of the city. Users reported outages ranging from Bathurst in the west, to Bayview, and starting from St. Clair to as far north as York Mills., according to screenshots shared on social media.“Treat intersections as a 4 way stop if traffic signals are out,” Toronto police reminded in a tweet.Thousands of Toronto Hydro customers are reporting an extensive outage in Midtown Toronto area near Yonge and Eglinton, and in Scarborough Friday evening.
