The new jersey is meant to showcase the team’s core principles of diversity and inclusion, said former Toronto FC player, an active member of the Toronto Caribbean community who was involved in the campaign for the kit’s creation. Major League Soccer selected Toronto FC as one of the four teams in the league that were allowed to produce and wear a third edition of the jersey, part of the partnership between the league and Adidas that aims to give clubs a chance to represent authentic stories that matter to their local communities.
“It builds a sense of connection, building on the team’s ‘All For One’ slogan and showing that they really stand by it,” he said.
