During a recent cold spell, DSG residents have allegedly been dealing with rolling heat outages and other HVAC malfunctions.
Some residents have resorted to using space heaters and even ovens to stay warm, as their furnaces have been intermittently out of service. These issues add to a growing list of problems that tenants have been experiencing since 2022. Complaints range from persistent hot water shortages, faulty fixtures, and malfunctioning fire alarms to security concerns, sky-high utility bills, and break-ins. One resident described their experience as a nightmare, stating that their family refuses to visit their condo due to elevator malfunctions. DSG has a 2.5-star rating on Google, with recent reviews highlighting the building's ongoing issues. These include frequent elevator breakdowns, difficulties receiving packages, poor electrical work, and an inconvenient pool booking system. While some might immediately blame current management, a representative for the building clarifies that DSG is a multi-residential condominium property, not a rental building. They emphasize that responsibility for individual unit maintenance and repairs lies with the unit owners, while DSG is responsible for common areas. The representative states that DSG has been diligently addressing common-element issues and actively pursuing Tarion warranty coverage for eligible repairs. However, they also stress the importance of unit owners maintaining their individual units and allowing DSG access for investigations and repairs related to common elements. Residents with concerns about their units are advised to contact their landlords or Tarion for assistance.
