The heavy snowfall caused significant disruptions across the city, with OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt urging drivers to avoid the roads due to widespread slipping and sliding.

Plowing efforts were expected to continue into Friday, with snow removal to designated dump sites anticipated to begin early next week.The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) assured that it was operating buses on all available stops despite the challenging conditions. Metrolinx announced that GO Transit was running on a special schedule, with some train trips canceled and bus routes facing delays. The City of Toronto declared the winter event a major snow condition, prohibiting parking along snow routes. As of Thursday morning, over 700 tickets had been issued to drivers violating this rule. Environment Canada lifted the snowfall warning for Toronto around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, as the snow stopped falling across most of the GTA.
