A popular Toronto bakeshop just shut down one of their locations for good after their landlord more than doubled their rent. For the past four years, the homey bakery that sits at the corner of Harbord and Grace has been a go-to for hungry patrons to pick up a sweet treat, a particular favourite among the dog- and human child parents stopping in from nearby Bickford Park.

The reason behind the closure wasn't because of financial troubles for the bona fide neighbourhood staple, Tina writes in the caption, but because of a lease dispute with a new landlord. "We were expecting an increase however we were not expecting that the rent would be more than double with another increase yearly after that."

Come July 29, Tina once again took to Instagram to issue a heartfelt — albeit tearful — goodbye as the shop marked its last day of service."I just wanted to say thank you," Tina says in the video,"I wanted to say thank you to everyone in the Harbord Village community and the Bickford Park community and all the dog moms, dads, families and kids that came into our store for the last four years.
